Georgian Bowfronted Chest
A Georgian period mahogany bowfronted chest of drawers; the chest's eared top above three graduated drawers flanked by reeded columns with acanthus carved capitals and raised on ring turned legs. Veneered throughout in carefully selected fiddle back mahogany.
Antique Georgian chests of drawers are often elegant, classical and simple in their design. Built between 1714 and 1820 these antique chests of drawers are fairly conservative in their design compared to some more opulent antique chest of drawers you can purchase such as marquetry and bombe designs.
Usually made from hard woods, such as walnut, oak or mahogany, they are long lasting. The common Drwer design being three to four drawer but examples can be found of two drawers over two or three drawers also.
